What an exciting week in Primary! Our U11 students competed in the Fobisia Friendly Games in Thailand and came back this afternoon with arms full of medals and trophies. They were tired but excited and are all very proud of their achievements, as well they should be.
Our older students have been very involved in their exams and exam preparation over the last few weeks and our other students have been incredibly respectful in keeping exam areas quiet and focussed. Thank you to everyone who is doing their best to give our exam students a positive experience during this time.
As this is the coronation weekend, I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the Big Coronation Garden Party at the British Embassy tomorrow. The event has been so popular that it is now full and it is no longer possible to sign up. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students will be there running games, selling the homemade soaps from their work in class and performing too.Ìý
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Primary News
Last week Year 4 put on a wonderful assembly on the importance of water. They have been learning about water sustainability through their SDG topic: Climate Action. The children created information slides on why water is not only important for us, but for our planet as well. They have been learning about new ways to combat climate change and finding ways that they can make small changes at home such as taking shorter showers, not keeping the taps on, using less plastic, etc. We all want to work together to create a cleaner and safer environment!

Language Taster Session in Year 6
Year 6 had an exciting Languages session this week as they started to prepare themselves for their move into the Secondary school. The lively and engaged learners were able to have a taster session and immerse themselves further into French, Spanish and Mandarin. Learners reflected on which languages they found the most interesting and about different techniques they could use to get better and more confident in different languages.
Psychology Spotlight
It is with great pleasure that I present to you this term’s newsletter spotlight for Psychology. It has been a busy term for students as they prepare for their final examinations which has meant that much of this term has been exam-focussed; a great opportunity to trial some innovations based on psychological research!
Y12-13 have been developing their own knowledge-organisers which are called Bento-Boxes; this revision tool enables them to chunk information into appropriate categories (knowledge and evaluation) in order to reduce some of the pressure from their working memory–which has a capacity of 5-9 chunks of information–so they can focus on writing effective essays.
Y11 students have been analysing models written by specialists to identify the structure and features of effective responses to tough exam questions; applying this to their own writing and developing their ability to answer some of the more challenging questions. Y11 have also developed and delivered a TedTalk to their peers on the different aspects of Unipolar Depression which has proven their fluency and excellent oratory skills.
Students in Year 10 have been learning and applying their knowledge of clinical psychology in a mock clinical setting. They devised their own script with their knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and have recorded some thoughtful videos to showcase their learning! The Year 10s have also challenged themselves by writing their first 1500 word essay which asked them to meet a strict criteria and deadline. As we expected, all of our students met these expectations and then some.
All in all this term has been busy, but our students at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ have taken on the challenge with maturity and ambition, bringing together all of their prior-learning into a meaningful sprint to the finish line.
Next year will look towards a change in the A-Level syllabus which means a new set of content and approaches to look forward to. I look forward to sharing this with you as we move forward into the new academic year.
Term 4 Withdrawal Notification
Thank you to those parents who have confirmed that their child/children will be leaving Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ at the end of the term, i.e. 30th June 2023. Adequate notice is a requirement and avoids financial penalties for parents.Ìý It also allows us to refund your security deposits on time and helps us to plan ahead for the new term.
The deadline for providing the formal notice of the withdrawal of your child/children is Tuesday, 30th May 2023. The notice of withdrawal can be provided either by email or written letter to Ms. Manisha Bajracharya at the admission office.
After submitting the notice of withdrawal, parents will receive a clearance form to complete the withdrawal procedure nearer the end of Term 4. Please let Ms. Bajracharya in the admissions office know should you require any school documents/references to provide to the new school.
Late notice of withdrawal (or providing no notice) and failure to submit the form or return the school’s resources may fully or partially affect refunding the security deposit.
