Primary Junior and Senior Eco Ambassadors
Last week, our Senior Primary Eco Ambassadors proudly welcomed the new Junior Eco Ambassadors by officially presenting them with their Eco Ambassador t-shirts alongside Ms Palmer. The role of an Eco Ambassador is important, as students work together to promote sustainability at ĢƵ, in our community, across Nepal, and around the world. During the afternoon, the students enjoyed getting to know each other through fun Eco Charades activities, building teamwork and sharing ideas about how to care for our planet. They are already looking forward to working together again soon for a whole-school litter pick to help keep our environment clean and green.

SDG student-led fundraising events
We are delighted to share details of our upcoming SDG student-led fundraising events in Primary, taking place on Thursday, 14th May and Friday, 15th May in support of our Community Partners Fund. These events are designed and led by students, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and our shared commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
On Thursday, 14th May, Year 5 will host a Movie Afternoon for students in Years 3 – 6 from 3:30 – 4:30 pm (straight after club time) in the library. Tickets are available at 250 Nrs or 500 Nrs, with the higher price including hot chocolate and popcorn.
On Friday, 15th May, we have a full programme of exciting events across Primary. Year 4 will begin the morning with a class assembly for parents from 8:30 – 9:00 am in the Drama Studio, followed by a jewellery workshop and sale. Year 3 will present an Art Gallery and Sale in the Primary Library from 8:00–9:40 am, showcasing their creative work.
In the afternoon, Year 6 will present “Spotlight Showcase: A Celebration of Creativity”, a lively mix of music, drama, and artistic performances, as well as stalls and refreshments. Year 6 families and friends are invited to this event. This will take place in the Drama Studio from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, with tickets priced at 200 Nrs for children and 500 Nrs for adults. At the same time, Year 1 and Year 2 will host their “Summer Spectacular” for families, which will also run from 1:30 – 2:30 pm and celebrate learning through performance and creativity.
We look forward to welcoming families to these special events. All proceeds will go directly to our Community Partners Fund, helping us support meaningful projects beyond our school community.
Year 4 Parent Visit
In Year 4, we were very lucky to welcome Bhushan Thapa into school to talk to us about hydroelectricity. The children learned how a hydroelectric power plant works, how long it takes to build one, and many other fascinating facts about generating electricity using water. They were incredibly engaged and asked lots of thoughtful questions throughout the session. It was a wonderful opportunity to hear from a real expert and deepen our learning about renewable energy.

Parents Forum
This week it was a pleasure to host a Parent Information Forum for our parents focusing on the Transitions and changes that our children go through as we approach the end of the academic year. It was wonderful to have such a large turn out, and we look forward to implementing some of the ideas discussed.

Little Yetis
This week, our Little Yeti’s morning was inspired by the popular story Dear Zoo and safari animals in honour of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. The children loved exploring a range of hands-on activities. They gave toy animals muddy baths, caught animals swimming in the water area, squished and shaped creatures in playdough, searched for animals with binoculars, and had the opportunity to craft their own giraffes.
We look forward to diving into a new adventure next week as we explore an exciting Under the Sea theme!
