Congratulations to our U11 team who have just returned from the FOBISIA Friendly Games in Thailand. By all accounts, they had a wonderful experience and also celebrated their sporting successes with new friends from all over the FOBISIA family in Asia.
Tomorrow, our school will be hosting our annual Community Conference, a day that reflects one of our 5 C’s of Community, when we will be working in partnership to strengthen education beyond our own campus. This event is an opportunity for us to give back to the schools and organisations we collaborate with throughout the year. We are proud to welcome teachers and leaders from across the Kathmandu community and beyond for a full day of professional learning, dialogue and shared practice.
This year’s theme, Skills for a Safer and Smarter School, focuses on two areas that are central to every child’s experience: wellbeing and high-quality learning. Throughout the day, our ĢƵ staff will be facilitating workshops and sessions that draw on their expertise in pedagogy, student support, leadership and curriculum design. These sessions are practical, research-informed and grounded in classroom experience, ensuring that participants can take meaningful strategies back to their own schools. The conference also provides a valuable space for professional connection. Teachers will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges and explore solutions together. These conversations are often where the most powerful learning happens, and we are committed to fostering a culture of openness and collaboration.
For our own staff, this is equally a moment of professional pride. Sharing knowledge and practice with peers is an important part of professional growth, and it reflects the depth of expertise within our school. It also reinforces our belief that education is a shared endeavour, not a competitive one.
For parents, it is important to know that this work has a direct impact on our students. By engaging in partnerships and contributing to the wider educational community, we continue to refine and strengthen our own practice. The ideas exchanged and the relationships built through events like this ultimately enhance the quality of teaching and learning your children experience every day.
We are grateful to our community partners for their trust and collaboration, and we look forward to a purposeful and inspiring day ahead.

Withdrawal Notice
Thank you to the parents who have already informed us that your child/children will be leaving ĢƵ at the end of the term on Friday, 26th June 2026. We would like to stress that providing adequate and timely notice is essential. Formal notice is a mandatory requirement, helps parents avoid potential financial penalties, enables the timely refund of security deposits, and allows the school to plan effectively for the upcoming term. Please be reminded that the final deadline for submitting a formal notice of withdrawal is Sunday, 31st May 2026. Notice must be provided either by email or by a written letter addressed to Ms Manisha Bajracharya, Admissions Office. Upon receipt of the withdrawal notice, parents will be issued a clearance form, which must be completed closer to the end of the term to finalise the withdrawal process. Parents who require school documents or references for the new school should inform Ms Manisha Bajracharya in the Admissions Office as early as possible. Kindly note that late submission or failure to provide notice, as well as not completing the clearance process or returning school resources, may result in partial or full forfeiture of the security deposit. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering strictly to these requirements.

Global Action Days
This week, our Eco Ambassadors led a range of exciting activities as part of the Global Action Days initiative, encouraging Primary students to take action for a more sustainable world while having fun together during lunch breaks. The activities were linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and helped students think creatively about how they can make a positive difference in their community and beyond.
On Monday, students enjoyed a variety of interactive SDG games designed and created by our Year 6 students. Through teamwork, quizzes, challenges, and problem-solving activities, the children explored important themes such as climate action, responsible consumption, quality education, and protecting our planet. It was wonderful to see students learning through play and engaging so enthusiastically with the global goals.
Wednesday brought an exciting scavenger hunt around the Primary campus. Students worked together to solve clues, complete eco-themed challenges, and discover ways we can all contribute to a greener future. The lunchtime buzz and energy showed just how much the students enjoyed the activity while developing collaboration and critical thinking skills.
Today, the Eco Ambassadors launched the Junk Modelling Competition, which will continue until next Friday. Students are invited to create imaginative models using recycled and reusable materials. The competition will conclude with a special exhibition in the Primary Library where families and students will be able to admire the creative designs and sustainability messages behind each project.
We would greatly appreciate donations of clean recyclable materials such as empty cereal boxes, cardboard tubes, plastic containers, bottle caps, and other safe junk modelling items. A collection box has been placed at the school entrance for donations. Thank you for supporting our students in turning waste into creativity!
U11 FOBISIA Games 2026 The U11 FOBISIA Games 2026 in Bangkok and Pattaya were an unforgettable experience for our ĢƵ Yetis, filled with sporting success, teamwork, resilience, and lasting memories. Throughout the week, our students represented the school with pride, determination, and excellent sportsmanship both on and off the field.
The Games began with an energetic opening ceremony before students launched straight into the athletics events, earning an impressive number of medals while demonstrating perseverance and encouragement towards one another. Despite several weather-related schedule changes, the Yetis adapted brilliantly. One unexpected highlight was tee-ball replacing swimming for an afternoon, where both ĢƵ teams performed exceptionally, winning all of their matches and showing outstanding teamwork and positivity.
Alongside the competition, students enjoyed many memorable experiences together, including swim practice sessions, travelling in traditional Thai songtaews, exploring impressive sports facilities, and socialising with students from schools across the world. Even rainy moments were embraced positively, with plenty of fun, laughter, and team bonding back at the hotel and during evening social events.
A major highlight came during the tee-ball tournament, where both the ĢƵ A and B teams went undefeated, winning 10 out of 10 matches to reclaim the championship title and secure gold medals. The swimming competition also brought fantastic success, with multiple podium finishes and a FOBISIA record-breaking gold medal in the Boys’ 25m Breaststroke.
The Games concluded with a demanding day of football. The boys showed resilience to finish 7th overall, while the girls delivered an outstanding performance to secure 3rd place and bronze medals.
The week ended with a wonderful gala dinner celebrating the achievements, friendships, and experiences shared throughout the Games. We are incredibly proud of every ĢƵ Yeti for the way they represented the school. Their determination, teamwork, kindness, and sportsmanship made this a truly special FOBISIA Games experience.

Atendi the Yeti Congratulations to year 3M for achieving an impressive 99% attendance. Atendi the Yeti will be staying with them for next week as this was the highest overall attendance for the week.
Little Yeti’s Our Little Yetis had a fun and engaging morning exploring our Music and Movement theme! The children loved sensory play with rice and lentils, discovering new textures and sounds through scooping, pouring, and hands-on exploration.
They also enjoyed time at our music listening station, where they made their own musical instruments using a variety of materials. The children delighted in experimenting with different sounds and rhythms, before dancing along to the music with colourful scarves.
A special highlight was ‘Music and Movement Time’ with our Primary Music Teacher, Ms. Quigley. The children enthusiastically joined in with songs, “Walk and Stop, Rocketship Run and Play Play Play Along” building their listening skills, coordination and sense of rhythm. It was a lively and enriching experience, perfectly suited to our youngest learners and a wonderful way to bring the morning together.
